Don't want an extremely glossy finish?

A layer of wax can be added over french polish to reduce the gloss. It also has an added bonus of giving an extra layer of protection.

French polishing is a traditional wood finishing technique that results in a very high gloss surface, with a deep color and luster. Such a gloss is possible through the application of various thin coats shellac dissolved in the proper solvent. Not only is it a visually stunning fishin but it also helps preserve the wood underneath.

French polishing can be applied onto any wood surface, such as:

Pianos

Funiture

Tool Handles

Frames

Doors

And so much more!

Want a color that isn't wood?

Wood can be dyed a variety of colors before being french polished. You can make it unique to your personal tastes.
